Why Your Station Should Air GUN TALK

"We weren't quite sure if there would be a large enough audience for Tom Gresham's Gun Talk, but the first week we aired it, we found out...boy, did we find out. We received emails and calls from listeners thanking us for adding the show. There's an audience all right ...and then some. Now we're going to work on the advertisers out there that aren't on the air with us but we know will support a show like Gun Talk!"

"Here in the 'reddest of red' states, Gun Talk was a hit from day one. Tom combines his passion for firearms and entertaining radio to create three hours of unique talk each weekend."

A few months ago we decided to drop Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk Show from our line-up. BIG MISTAKE! We were inundated with calls, emails, personal visits. We were truly amazed by the outcry of our listeners, male and female.

Someone once said, “A wise man changes his mind, but a fool never does” After about 3 weeks of no Gun Talk, we brought it back. GOOD MOVE! This is the only time we have ever brought back a program that we had canceled.

I highly recommend “Gun Talk with Tom Gresham” to be a part of a stations line-up, as Tom deals with the spectrum of guns, ammo, hunting, and legislation that pertains to gun owners… your listeners.

Tom:

WEBY, Northwest Florida's Talk Radio, has carried Tom Gresham's Gun Talk
since 2000.  It is an outstanding program that we are proud to carry.
And based on listener response, the community is glad we carry it.
As you have discussions with prospective radio stations about adding Gun
Talk to their line-up, please share with them these thoughts:
For Sales Managers: Gun Talk is sellable.
There is no doubt that you will be able to sell sponsorships for this show.
One of our  local Gun Talk sponsors told me he was "surprised
at how many new  customers mention the commercial on Gun Talk."  I told
him that I  wasn't surprised that he was getting great response, but that
I was  pleased that our listeners took the time to mention us.

For Program Directors:   Gun Talk will build your cume.  I know that  we
have listeners to Gun Talk that normally don't listen to news/ talk radio.
But we get them three hours a week on Sunday afternoons - some probably
have started listening on weekdays too.

For General Managers:    Don't be afraid of carrying Gun Talk.  Tom  does
an outstanding job discussing firearms issues in a responsible and respectable
manner.  You won't get the conspiracy theory,  backwards, paranoid, anarchists
on Gun Talk.  Tom Gresham's Gun Talk is quality programming you'll be proud
to air on your radio station.

If anyone considering adding Gun Talk to their line-up wishes to  discuss
it with a station that has aired it since 2000, feel free  to give them my
phone number [ (850) 983-2242 ].  I'll gladly take  the time to discuss it.

You do a great show!

Sincerely,

Mike Bates
