Maureen is a public speaker, who inspires people to take a more active role in writing the story of
their lives. She wants to help people have fun--especially at work, where any improvements are bound
to help the rest of life run more smoothly. You wouldn't pull a young child aside, excited about a
play date or the first day of preschool, to say, "Whatever you do, kid, don't get your hopes up."
Yet at some point as children grow up, that's a common refrain: "Don't get your hopes up." As if
lowering your expectations for how much fun you can have--at work, for example--is the secret to life.
Maureen believes the opposite is true. Get your hopes up and don't settle for less than the life you
were born to live.
